When You Don’t Feel Inspired

Do you ever feel like disguising yourself and crawling out of your usual habitat?

Do you ever feel like disguising yourself and crawling out of your usual habitat?

I confess.  It’s been a rough month. Between surgery, kidney failure, traveling, spending 12 days working at a booth in a crowded convention hall and using all of my supply of extrovertedness (probably for the entire year), I don’t feel very inspired this Monday.

I’ve scarcely looked at my blog in three weeks, and as another Monday approaches, all I have energy to do is throw up some photos of how I’m filling myself up with peace and quiet to make up for the hustle and bustle and plans-gone-awry that have made up my summer so far (only two more weeks of vacation until I report back to work for another school year).

I find comfort and peace wandering around with my camera tucked under one arm and my binoculars tucked under the other.  I know that I’ll see something beautiful–a gift from my Creator–if I just get outside and start looking.

And so I look to you, dear friends, for further inspiration. I’ll have a lot of reading to do once I escape the heat and humidity of south Texas (I’ll suffer through heat and humidity for new birds, though 🙂 ) and return home at the end of the week. Thank you for hanging in there with me throughout this crazy summer.

  • Anita, these are just beautiful photos. But they are truly more than that….they are beautiful reminders to you that in the midst of a difficult month, our God was with you. He gave you beauty which pointed to the truth that His Presence is with you & will continue to be with you. May He continue to bring you complete healing & strengthen you. Blessings!

  • I am right there with you friend! I haven’t touched my blog in over a week and my life has been very full with visitors from out of town, swimming lessons, finishing up reporting for the school year… figuring out school for next year… VBS last week and the list continues.

I am trying to jump back into this week and get some writing done! I am also like you that I love getting outside and taking pictures. There’s just something about slowing down and taking in the small things in nature and zeroing in on them. It helps me focus and keeps me from getting overwhelmed by the large stuff in life.

Thanks for these words and pictures! They were an encouragement to me and I reminder that I’m not the only crazy bird out there! 🙂 Big hugs to you! Enjoy these next two weeks!

  • ANITA! (Sorry to shout)
I’ve been wondering where you were, how you were, etc. because the last thing I read was kidney failure (yikes). I’m in the process of figuring out Twitter and that’s how I knew that you had posted this link up.
Your pictures are amazing, and it sounds as if you are doing much better (altho’ overwhelmed), so I’m thankful to know this!
    Blessings to you!
